Fuel Pump Wiring Question

I am installing a supra fuel pump and I have to splice the power and ground from the pump to the plug. I was wondering if I needed to do something specifically so the live wire doesn't ignite all the fuel in my tank and blow my car up.

Fuel is more of an insulator not a conductor. Just make tight soldered connections and your good.

Your fuel pump is submerged in the tank, with electrical current going through it while running.

do I need to cover the solders with anything then?

Heat shrink would be ideal (just remember to slide it on one wire before soldering). If you don't have any, electrical tape will work.

Any time you're working on wiring/electrical stuff, disconnect the battery!

don't worry about it just cut your factory connector in half, save enough wire length in case you ever want to re-use it. Then solder that bad boy directly onto the denso pumps post. I just wrapped the wire around the post took my 250w gun direct to the post, it ended up looking beautiful.

By the way be ready to trim the isolator down to practially nothing. I even trimmed the L-bracket that holds it in a little bit too.

Once your done and installed start it up and enjoy the sound of silence(compared to a wally)

Agreed. You just want to make sure the exposed leads don't short against anything else.
I believe I used heat shrink on mine.
