I'll tell you the whole story, sorry if it's long but you guys like description.I've done my research and found treads very similar to my problem, but not the exact thing.A couple of years ago I bought a rolling chassis and all of the work that's been done, I have done myself or had professionally done(read profile).Pretty much only engine work.It is a '95 Talon TSI AWD with a 6 bolt motor swap.I've never driven this car nor has it started up since I've owned it.Now that it's warm again the time to get this thing running is now.Now heres my problem. It will turn over but it will not fire up.First I checked all my wiring connections and there are a few that are not connected and I don't know where they go,but I have read that when doing the swap there will be a couple left unconnected. Then I checked the spark, sure enough I have spark. Now I have moved to the fuel department and have found that I'm not getting any.I have now pin-pointed the problem.
.This is where mine is different. My fuel pump does not kick on at all, even after attempting to start it up like all of yours do/did.My injectors don't start working. And,I am not getting a clicking sound from my relay.
So now I am completely dumb-founded.Is it my fuel pump?Is it my MPI relay? Is it my ECU?Could it be something else completely? There was fuel left in the tank this whole time, could the very old fuel have locked up the fuel pump,or maybe clogged up the fuel lines so much that not even a drop is getting to the fuel rail?I think I have gotten descriptive enough so please, all of you extremely intelligent DSMers inform a not so intelligent but likes to think he is DSMer the proper route to take.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
ALSO, I forgot to mention that during the initial attempt to start the car it would not crank or anything. The starter tested out fine so we assumed that it was the ignition switch and wired in a push button starter.I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not,but I thought it would be worth mentioning.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
