Hey all, I have a 98 gsx I put a brand new walbro 255 in. it had no power so I rewired the fuel pump with a new plug connector and am getting 12v at the pump the pump itself is humming like it's priming when I crank but I'm still not getting any fuel to the rail I have a brand new fuel filter installed correctly anyone have any ideas? All relays are working fuel is in tank I'm getting the right power and all lines are blown out and cleaned

Check your pump install. The pump could have come loose or no longer has a seal between its output and the hanger. This would have a perfectly functioning pump throwing all of that fuel immediately back into the tank.

Thank you very much for your reply, I Just pulled the pump put a new o ring on it and put it back together and it was all sealed up threw it back in the tank and turned it over pump is still humming but still not getting any fuel in the lines

There are two other pieces that work with the O-ring to create the seal. You have those, too, right?

Yup I just had an extra new o ring laying around so I threw that in new since that is the actual "seal". another thing I was thinking of was I have a stock fpr the car hasn't run for a while so I'm kinda leaning towards a stuck closed fpr. would that be giving me my problems since there is no way for the system to recirculate?

The system would have pressure / would get fuel to the rail if the FPR was stuck closed.

Stuck open, on the other hand, may not allow the system to build enough pressure to start. But it would still move fuel around.

How have you checked no fuel to the rail?

I assume you’re disconnecting the line going into fuel rail to test , and noticing no fuel.

The only thing between that pump and rail is the filter ..

If possible check the line entering the filter , but more importantly did you bench test the pump , just because it whines doesn’t necessarily mean it’s functioning.

I am checking the line by pulling the high pressure line at the rail after I've cranked it over to give the system the time to get fuel to the rail and pressurize so that when I disconnect it it will leak out fuel and it does not. I've tried 3 different pumps I tried one from a running parts car a brand new 255 and the pump from the car so I don't see all 3 of them being dead but when the problem did arise I tested the 225 by hooking up direct power it did pump

Show us the line. Need to see exactly what you're doing. Would be easier to test using the fuel pump check connector. If you do this be aware of possible sparks etc since you're playing with fuel. I usually hook an extra long hose to the return at the regulator. Put it into a bucket.

Like said from the engine bay you can power the fuel pump test connector. Then if the pump runs and the fuel feed line off the rail is ran into say a bottle. The pump runs you hear it and no fuel. Then it would indicate either a blockage or pump is not sealing correctly in the tank.
