Fuel pump help

Okay so my fuel pump wont kick on when i turn the key to the "on" position ,but when i go to roll the car over the fuel pump kicks on. i have a buddie who's been building dsms all his life so i asked him the same question. His response was "the fuel pump should prime its self when you have the key in the "on" position. i also found a thread on here that was saying different. the thread i read on here said the fuel pumps only kicks on when you go to start the car? please help.

Check your fuel pump relay next to the computer does it have voltage. Possibly the pump is bad.

okay ill check the relay. But my pump does kick on when i try to roll the car over it just doesnt work when i have the key in the "on" position.

I believe it's only active by the CAS.

For the vast majority of fuel injected cars, the fuel pump will "prime" when you turn the ignition to the ON position. However, in a turbo DSM the fuel pump won't turn on until the ECU see's that the engine has rotated (via the CAS).

So no need to worry, it's normal.

alright i just wanna be sure before i go spend money on a fuel pump or a relay. thanks for all the help.
