Fuel Pump Cover Plate

So i finally my talon running the other night and today the fuel pump died on me.. my question is: I removed the brackets and metal plate covering the gas tank and fuel pump area but the fuel pump cover plate is rusted beyond believe and if im dumping mone into this guy i wanna replace it but i dont know where to get one...? anyone know where i can find one at? its the round plate with the 6 tiny bolts and connectors on it... car is a 92 talon tsi awd.. thanks..

Your local junkyard might have a decent one. DSMgraveyard will also have some in good condition for an even better price!!!!

It may just be surface rust. Pull it off and hit it with a wire brush, or even better find someone with a bead blaster. They can look bad but not really be damaged below all the surface rust and crud that builds up on them. (Assuming the fuel pump side still looks good of course).

If it cleans up ok, hit it with some good paint for protection and call it a done deal
