Fuel pump a complete mess

I am redoing my fuel pump before it causes a fire (previous owners work).. The sending unit has JB Weld all over the place, I will let the pictures talk... My questions will follow after.

I scraped all the JB Weld off the sending unit and I am planning on buying a steel bulkhead fitting (previous one is aluminum) that I can properly weld on to the sending unit I just have no idea where to begin.. What am I going to need exactly? And how do I seal off the hole in which the two wires from the pump run through? Thanks

save yourself the headache and buy another housing for the fuel pump. either junk yard or Ebay.

I mean, nothing is wrong with this one all the jb weld is removed, the metal is sanded down smooth. All I need to do now is properly reassemble the fuel pump correctly

My hanger is goofed up in a similar fashion though mine was just a pipe jb welded in a square cut hole. Probably going to do same as you and have a fitting welded on.

Would you happen to know how to connect the fuel pumps nose to the bottom of the bulkhead fitting?

I'm actually not sure how I'm going to do it haven't gotten around to figuring it out.

Wow, that's not just a fire waiting to happen. That's an explosion. God forbid those two female connectors made contact in a near empty tank of fuel. Weld the unused holes shut or have someone do it for you. As for connecting the pump:

I would use the a -6 AN to NPT fitting. Figure out the I.D. of those fittings, put an O-ring on the outlet of the pump and see if it'll be a good fit. Once you find the correct one, weld it to the cover.

Browse that catalog. You might find something that'll work better but that idea is close to how stock pumps are hooked up.
