This cat I know here in town has a 96 Eclipse GS with a T3/T4 setup. He bought it like this from a guy that said he had 9k in the car and mostly under the hood. Well heres my question, the guy says that the car needed new high flow injectors cause the car starts to run lean without them. My question is is that what would the car do if the injectors being used were not sufficient enough? I figured you would get fuel cut, but this car just runs really slow and has no power at all. I've easily dusted him before and my car is stock and he can barely keep up with a 2.5 S10. What would his problem be. The whole motor has been completely biult and should be putting down some good power even with stock injectors but it doesn't at all. I'm pretty sure the guy who bought the car doesn't know a thing about what he has so I was going to try to figure it out for him. I've never had to deal with something like this so I obviously wouldn't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but if you are boosting and run too lean you'll run into detonation?
BTW detonation is bad mmmkay!

no you wont fuel cut that is something else
"the ecu reads positive manifold pressure and drops voltage"
Lean = heat= boom
if there stock inj's a good idea is to upgrade them.
How much boost is he running?????

No idea how much boost he is running. I'll ask him tomorrow. The car has all of the supporting mods accept injectors and that is because he needs a 1,100 set that comes with a secondary 4 of them since the motor is built so much. Thats what the guy told him and what he says also so I am going by what they say. The reason why I am even wondering what it would be other than injectors is because the car is really beat up and not very good shape, so I kind of suspect foul play. I know that running it lean will cause a big "boom" and I think he does too, but he still persists on driving it everyday. Thanks for the input thus far.
