I'm not sure about the AC part but I don't see how AC will effect idle speed/intake pressure unless your ISC isn't functioning.DSMcrazy3 said:The vacuum reading I get is about 17 with the A/C on, when I turn it off it goes to about 20. I believe that is normal.
Stop free reeving like that, it's really bad for your motor. Intake pressure goes into negatives when the pistons are out flowing the throttle plate position so yes, it's normal for it to dip a little.Sometimes when I free rev it goes to 0 sometimes it goes right below 0(not even to 1 vacuum). I know I'm not supposed to register boost on free rev. but should I build vacuum?
Yes, spray the compressor cover (depending on which turbo you have) with soapy water as they are know to leak as well. Disconnect or turn the mbc all the way up, open the oil cap and listen for leaks, just some more tips.Is it ok to pressurize the system where my intake pipe goes, on that part of the turbo, to make sure nothing is leaking out of the back side of the compressor?

Be nice, Ultimatedsm was just trying to help.DSMcrazy3 said:I won![]()
PCV would have been one of themIf I hear something out of the oil cap what is the problem?
along with turbo seal (mostly not a problem during a static pressure test...mostly), valve seals or piston ring (small amount of blow by is normal, especially with good compression numbers).

Ultimatedsm said:Well I'm not too familar with the 420A engine, but i know one thing from past experience, if your car falls flat on its face when trying to boost, its a BOOST LEAK 95% of the time. So instead of trying other things, why don't you do a boost leak test first. You really are wasting your time with other stuff right now. In addition to that SCREW YOU ALL!!!!![]()

it's ok...you're not the first 4g guy to come in our forum and get bashed for misinformation

Hey man, everyone appreciates the help, you said what you had to say, all we were doing was making a point about the 420a motor that some people forget. And I have to give you respect just because your from my former home town. Scarbourough Ontario. CANADA. Tdot you know!
Okay done hijacking, back to the thread. Crazy just let us know the results of the boost leak test.
.

.Oh great, a Canadian's got my back.Ultimatedsm said:Don't worry OLDMAN your not alone.

Ultimatedsm said:How does that make me a spammer? What misleading information? I originally said check for boost leaks, like I said before Im not too familar with the 420A motor but now I know it doesn't have a MAF sensor. Everyone learns from experience. So you can take that spammer sign, turn it side ways and stick it up your ass![]()

just kidding. When I did it in caps, I didn't mean you were stupid or anything, that didn't even go by my head, that mean't do it ASAP!
. Anyway guys no hard feelings and I hope you get your car fixed. Boost leak test is the time to see how well your pipes hold up to pressure. If they can't handle it they will pop off
thats what happend to me at 25 PSI.

)..
So i'm going to assess that situation, then have a fun time boosting
Livid said:ouch. I had the same problem, I believe it happened to me because my internal gate was running at such a high psi, once I got my Tial 38mm I haven't had to replace it again.
