fuel pressure

I have a afpr with a guage. I noticed the the fp drops to 0 right after I turn the car off. Isnt it supposed to take a while to bleed off?

From all the ones I have seen the FP drops right after key is turned off. With no power the pump should lose suction and thus your presure should and will fall off.

Well, not quite. It just doesnt have constant pressure anymore. Try pulling the rail feed off and see if it spurts (meaning built up pressure), and trust me, it will!

The pressure doesn't stay but it shouldn't instantly drop to 0. Since you're a 2g, it might have something to do with your fuel pressure solenoid. I wouldn't worry about it though.

The fuel pressure solenoid doesn't have anything to do with holding pressure in the rail. It is common for aftermarket AFPR's to bleed down quickly, within a few minutes, but I don't know about having it go to zero right away. It could be that your fuelpump doesn't have a check valve, so the fuel is pushing backwards through the pump and into the tank. To check whether the fuel is going back through the pump or the return line, you could pinch off the return line right before you have someone turn off the key. If the pressure holds, it is the AFPR leaking down quickly. If it doesn't hold, the fuel must be backflowing through the pump.

Mine will eventually go to zero but it takes awhile for it to bleed off. Not sure if it's different for a 2g.
