Calgary,
I have the Aeromotive AFPR kit from Import Evolution and tried to install it today. Everything was hooked up right but then fuel was dripping out the vacuum outlet. I put the high pressure spring in, adjusted to 42 psi. All the parts are there. Anyone know what's going on?

The vacuum chamber of the FPR should be sealed and separate from the fuel passages. It sounds as if the unit is defective or something went wrong with the install. I would send an e-mail to Aeromotive and see what they have to say. I have contacted them before and they were very prompt in replying.

Good luck.

You didn't properly torque down the bolts when you swap out the spring OR you forgot to re-install the gasket between the two chambers, go back and tighten them, better yet, loc tit them. More importantly, did you taflon both the vacuum fitting and adjustment rod?

Forgot the gasket!?:nono: Didn't do that. How would I properly torque it?

I opened it up again to have a look and things look fine. Is there a way I can check it to see if it will seal?

Seal it back up, power up the pump via the check connector on the firewall without starting the car, if it still leaks to the air chamber, send it back for a replacement. If they refuse, send them a link to this thread. ;)

Can I hook air up to it through the fuel port and see if it's holding anything? I want to make sure it'll hold before I start hooking it back up to the fuel rail.

I don't see why not.

Oh yea, all of you can kiss my crusty ass. :D

Bruce, will the air that's introduced into the system just be automatically bled out when the fuel makes it back to the tank?

BTW, shouldn't that be your wrinkled a##?LOL (Like I should talk :sosad: )

Mother F#%$*%#!!!!!!!!!! Well, I tried it again and it leaked....again. Fuel was pissing out the vacuum port. Looks like I'll have to send it back to Aeromotive. What a piss off:mad: :beatentodeath:

Here's the update to let you know what's going on. Aeromotive sent me a new diaphram, and it takes two weeks to get mail in Canada, and it came today. I installed it with no problems! Now on to the next issue...vibrating and power loss at 3000 rpm's...

Should a brand new Aeromotive FPR bee taken apart and thread locked? I've got mine mounted on the firewall and using rubber bushings to absorb some vibration

You don't need to take it apart, just take out the little screws and dab them a little. It wouldn't hurt.
