Just need a quick yes or no on this, i already searched but got threads that had nothing to do with this, pls its a quick question. Is there a difference between 1g and 2g injectors or will any type of aftermarket injector work in each?

I don't have any experience with the FIC injectors. I myself have RC 550s, and they're mated to the 1g fuel rail (so I can run the SX regulator off of the end of the rail) and everything bolts up fine. As long as the injector works for either 1g or 2g, it'll work in both. The mating surface in the rail and head are no different. The only dicrepancy that I can think of would be the wiring harness, and I'm pretty sure that they are the same between models.

Yes there is a difference between engines... Stock injectors in the 4g63 from the 1G and 2G, I honestly dont know. I bought some 550's from a 4g63 owner thinking they would fit and upon placing them into the rail, it didnt fit. Visual inspection showed that the 4g63 injectors are longer than the 420a. Plus the resistance is different for both 1G and 2G injectors.

Unsure what you were asking, but just for extra info. :D

ok mabye i should try clarifying a little more sorry, but its for the 4g63 motor. Is there any difference between the 1g or 2g style injectors and their fittings, like if i were to take injector type x from someone that used them on a 1g would they work on a 2g? Hope that clarified things up. Thanks again for all the replies so far.

Yes they should since they're aftermarket. Make sure you don't reuse the old o-rings and seals. They're only $14 from Roadrace Engineering. I don't remember if you have to hack the harness out of a 1g to get them to work with the 2g or not. I was hoping someone else would chime in on this, and I'm pretty sure they're the same, but as far as fittiment to head and rail, it is the same.
