91 Eclipse AWD . Mod list: 100% STOCK!
Had a problem about a week ago. Car was just dumping fuel into the cylinders. So bad that it would cause white smoke that smelled like straight gas. It wouldn't go past 1200k rpms without suttering, bogging down. Sometimes at a red light it would turn off. No coolant in oil or oil in coolant but the oil smelled like gas when checked from dip stick. Also, the car doesn't have a boost controller...so I was only building boost (when I could) around 5-7 (Mostly 5)
145 compression across the board. Spark plugs (brand new NGK BR6ES gapped at .28) fouled. Replaced fuel filter. spark plugs (twice). spark plug wires. PCV valve. I do have a cracks in the exhaust manifold and exhaust side of the turbo. No "boost leaks" in the rubber hoses for the intercooler (brand new rubber hoses*). Checked ECU, looked normal...no burns or fish smell. Tested the injectors 2.8 ohms, all firing. No CEL lights, ECU reports "All Normal". Engine temp stays in the middle. I do not have any logger software or A/F gauge... . I know this could be 1000 different things but what does this most commonly sound like? Timing belt jumped a tooth? FPR stuck open? Bad O2? Coolant temp sensor bad? Or could those exhaust cracks be sooo bad (They didn't look too bad) that it would cause my car to jump into open loop mode and dump nothing but FUEL. Please help!
