OK i just bought a 7 bolt 95 tsi awd with a stock t25 turbo. Only mods ive done to it is put a ssqv hks bov, evo 560cc injectors, megan 3" down pipe and its straight pipe, Safc2, act 2600 extreme clutch, fmic, ngk spark plugs' and 255 walbro fuel pump. I put it together and took it for a test drive but i feel absolutely no power!!!!! As soon as it hits 4000 rpm it feels like i hit a wall for a second then it starts popping and backfirering. My friend told me a FPR would fix the problem and a bov recurculating kit. So I just bought a Tomei type s Fule pressure regulator and a recirculating kit and I am gona put them on today will that fix my problem?? Has anyone had this problem as well? i mean i had a 97 gs non turbo that i bought a turbo for it and without even tuning it it had more balls the whole reason i bought this tsi awd was because its supposed to put my other one to shame!!:ohdamn: What do i need to do to have it running perfect?? and how much hp do u think it can produce with the parts i have.??

As of right now i dont have a mbc or a boost gauge installed im saving up to get a AEM true boost gauge i believe that controls the boost aswell. The turbo being a T25 i was thinking it was not any help having that one either but i wasnt quite sure. Im thinking of going with a big 16g from an EVO i think they are bolt on right?? .....and no i dont have a COP' a friend was trying to sell me one but does that help that much? The safc is not tuned correctly yet im prutty new to this so im still trying tune it correctly.... Im putting the FPR on tomorow then ima mess with the safc.

Well my thing is the tune you have a higher volume fuel pump and larger injectors. If you are hitting a wall its definately air fuel ratio needs to be fine tuned and turn the boost up a little no point for fuel mods without more boost. More boost please...

Yeah boost leak is possible to.

My gf's old talon would feel like it was hitting a brick wall at around 4k rpm. It didnt backfire or anything of that nature but it did turn out there was a HUGE boost leak around the POS stock plastic piping where it met the BOV. IDK how it happened but there was a 1'' hole. Check your tune then check for boost leaks.

Where did you install your HKS SSQV BOV? Your MAF has to be installed after the BOV, not before it.

EDIT: It looks like this thread is from about 3 weeks ago, I wonder if the OP got it sorted out with the parts he ordered and installed?

Boost leak test, easy way.
1. Turn car on
2. Get soap and water in a windex bottle.
3. Go crazy spraying on were hose clamps meet piping.
And anywhere there's a weld.
If it turns out you don't have a boost leak.
Check maf (2g mafs scre up all the time) I've had 2 bad mafs and exact same symptoms.
Try someone elses see what happens!
If that doesn't seem to be the problem. Get your tune done!

None of those turn out to be the problem, let us know. Well round it down for you, to get you
back to vrrrrmmmm pshhh fun! Hahaha

You should never put bigger injectors and a fuel pump in the car and not properly tune it before going and hammering on the gas. You could be rebuilding an enine in a hurry. In your case, youre essentially richening up your fuel by putting larger injectors in. You can backfire from running too rich and lose a lot of power.

I have a 98gst.Dose the samething but bone stock.found my problem getting no fule in cinder number on.Pluse my plug in number one looks like someone hit it with a hammer put new one in.Now no fule at cinder one could this be injector.

So you have no boost gauge or boost controller, also you have a Walbro 255 without a regulator?

Dont cheat the upgrade path, its how problems start. Also what about upper intercooler piping? Is it all new or did you just fit a BOV onto the old one? If thats the case I suspect a boost leak as well.
