Just for starters, I have a 98 GSX with an ETS fmic, 20g turbo, and Brian Crower stage 2 cams. I recently had a CEL code pop up and cannot figure it out. My scanner tells me it's "Factory fuel/air malfunction", not sensor, not selenoid, nothing just malfunction. Does anyone know what this could be or what's causing it? Thanks

Is this a code P0170

My scanner only says "factory fuel/air malfunction". Could it be the upgraded turbo, or the FMIC causing this?

I found out that the codes is P1104(turbocharger wastegate selenoid). Since I have a MBC hooked up, what do I need to do to get the cel to turn off? Would this cause bad idling and poor acceleration?

Did you unplug the factory BCS when you installed the MBC? If so plug that sucker back in. 2G's do not like having the BCS unplugged.

Is the BCS, and the Wastegate selenoid the same thing? If not where is the BCS located?

Thanks. I do have it plugged in, but the car still acts as if it's starving for fuel at low idle. Once I rev it to around 3-4000 rpm it runs fine. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the FPR selenoid, coil packs, wires, engine coolant temp switch, EGR valve. I also replaced the RC 550 injectors with stock, whoever owned the car before me installed them and a 1st gen motor, so I think I'll be doing nothing but chasing my own tail. Can a 1st gen motor even be installed in a 98 without losing your mind from wiring issues? Any help what so ever will be greatly appreciated.
