Frost on inside of windows...

nah im pretty sure that isnt it, it could be the hatch...anyone else get a shit load of water in the back when you open the hatch...stupid 95-96 talon wing...

water evaporating from the rear when your driving around with the heat cranked before you park it will condense and freeze on your windshield overnight. So dry it up!

no im saying when it rains or w/e i get tons of water in the back. But i have a tow in there and clean it up everytime. I was told it could be the heater core?

Somewhere in the interior of your car, you have water. Doesn't mean the carpeting will be wet- it can be the padding underneath, or even in the rear trunk/hatch area.

The frosting will generally be heavier near the area where the most moisture is located.

A sign of the heater core being bad (besides heat not working, of course) is a weird film on the inside of the windows, mainly the windshield. This is, however, just a film like in smokers' cars; this does not create ice as you're describing.

Start by sealing up the spoiler, drying everything out, getting the wet towel out of there, and doing some other tests.

You can put masking or painters tape on the weather stripping around windows. Do each side with one piece. Remove one piece and go for a drive. If you can't hear the wind, then remove another piece. Keep doing this process until you figure out which window(s) is/are leaking and replace the stripping.

I can't say about DSMs but on my previous hatch back I found my leak on my window by taking it to a car wash with a high pressure hose and with a friend in the vehicle watching where I sprayed and then marked all of the places that were allowing water in. Then I purchased new foam seals and replaced all leaking spots. That's the best way that I know of.

Thats acutally a good idea, I ended up doing that to find a leaky gasket seal on my sunroof. I noticed when i took a corner after washing the car and having water fall on my lap.

I get this too but I dont have any water leaks. Im guessing the moisture is coming from the snow I bring in on my shoes

you obviously use the heat so try using the fresh air option on the heater instead of the recirculate air. Worked for me. Good luck

Where can you buy the new foam seal at? Does that stop the leaking? Thanks

My problem was just wet carpet from snow tracked into the car. When you turn the heat to the floor to warm your toes, you evaporate that water. Unless you run the A/C long enough to dry it back up, that moisture will freeze to the windows.

I've also found that clean windows don't get that frost quite so easily or heavily. So once you get all the frost off and the window dried up, hit it with some glass cleaner.

Mine did this last year and the only difference now is that I have a microfiber drying towel behind my back seats on hatch cover (idk if its dry or not, I just threw it back there after a wash) and I took my A/C condenser out and unhooked my A/C. My dad said it could be from the A/C last year when mine use to do this. So if your not leaking, maybe check your A/C see if its filled, and working.

I have the same problem. Only the other day I opened my hatch to find a soaking wet carpet and a puddle that reached the top of the wheel well.. Thankfully someone was smart and put drain plugs at the bottom of the well. So now I have a leak somewhere in the hatch and can't find out where it's coming from

Both sides of my back seat carpet are soaked. :toobad: Something else on the "To Do" list.
