two bolts to front cross member completely rusted out. I think this may be a 1g thing, not sure if the 2Gs have a setup like this. The front cross member is the thing that runs parallel alongside the downpipe and has the front motor mount bolted to it. It is also what the downpipe hangs from. It has a total of 5 bolts bolting it to the frame of the car, two up front under the bumper (which are completely rusted, even the frame itself looks like it has rusted around the threads where the two bolts go into) and 3 in the back towards the rear of the engine bay (behind the block). Replacing my oil pan I had to remove this thing and the two bolts up front took some MAJOR torque from my breaker bar to remove THEM. When I put the cross member back on one of the front two bolts SNAPPED off into the frame. The bolts are extremely thick. I don't have the equipment necessary to get this fixed. If I took my car to a shop (maybe a body shop?) would they be able to put my car on a lift and get this thing out and maybe repair the rust damage to the frame as well? Is it safe to drive the car with only one bolt in the front? I'm gonna call the body shop tommorow to find out how much its gonna cost...anyone have any ideas how expensive something like this will be? (removing broken bolt, maybe heli-coil, repair somewhat rusted frame)
