my Front axle is stuck in the hub and i cant pound it out. i broke a CV boot and need to replace it. there are 4 bolts holding on the hub right by the boot and know way to get to them, with the boot there. i am open to any suggestions on what i should to to fix theis problem.

Is the axle still in on the tranny side? I would suggest buying PB Blaster and soaking the splines in the hub w/ it as best you can. Do this a few times at least, and then try to BFH it. Big F-ing Hammer--> hold up some wood though, if you dont wanna damage the end. It worked on my 1g, hope it can help you too. :thumb:

it might be fused into the hub due to the rust....try to heat the hub up and and pound it out.

if all that doesn't work, you might have to take the whole axle/hub assembly to a machine shop and have them press it out.

PB blaster what is that? the end is not in the tranny it is sitting on the ground. is it cheaper to by a new axle or just replace the boot.??i mean if i get a new axle then it wouldn't matter what the end looked like then right.

what side to i heat up??? it has to be fused in there. it looks like it is stock

Dont heat it, if you cant beat it out then the bearing sleave has welded itself to the axle stub. You might be able to press it out but the likelyhood is slim. Just keep drenching it in PB blaster for a few hours and take a few wacks at it with a 3lb hammer.
