Well the wonderful Michigan roads have struck again  ! A pothole the size of a small childs wading pool snuck up on me and wasted my front right wheel  . I didn't even see it coming untill it was too late OMG . Damn I hate these friggin roads around here  .

The good news is that the wheels were given to me free by a guy that works with my Dad :) . I was using them as winter wheels.

The bad news is that the wheels are no longer produced :( . So now I have to use one of my good "summer" wheels until I figure out if I want to buy another similar wheel or what. I so friggin mad right now I could scream........AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the reasons why my car is stored...Because Michigan owns our cars ! OMG

Sucks too see that man

Ouch, sorry to see that.

What road is this pothole on and where exactly is it? I'd like to go take a look at it...

The Oakland County road commission has to be the laziest, most F'ed up organization on the planet. Talk about crooked and worthless...

Construction is too busy fixing roads that don't need it, or better yet..screwing up roads and leaving them untouched for several months before they fix the damage they do.

Sorry to hear man.

I feel your pain, bruddah.
:(

I do my commuting mostly around Cleveland, and we've got quite a few potholes that size, too.......

Friend of mine likes to say that we should have summer/fall rims (bling) and winter/spring (blah).

Just don't have an accident ducking into another lane - seen a couple of those here in town already.

Best of luck on the replacement.

I try beating it back to shape.....don't forget to heat it up prior to beating it .....aluminum stain-hardens and it would break off if u try it w/o heating up......Then use JB weld/rubber cement to fliit in the craks and prevent leaks.....

Yeah don't even get me started on MI roads. I truly this the Westland, Livonia, Dearborn road commisions are but of lazy, dump mother ####ers......Would they try to fix the roads and fill the potholes prior to winter setting it? Hell no they wait until winter when it's ####ign cold out to try to fill them in. I guess they don't get it takes heat for the asphalt to stick together.........what's the result my ####ing cars is getting nailed by huge chucks of black top throw up by other cars......####ing dumbasses!

One of them was so big and hit my windshield so hard that i could swore it cracked my windshiled.....

White Lake Road going towards Andersonville from Dixie Hwy. About a mile down. Somewhere between Tappon and Mustang. The pot hole (multiple) is on the right side of the road. There is an area of the road that has a "passing" righthand lane so you can go around someone turning left. Right where this lane merges back into the other lane is where the pot holes are. They are mostly on the other side of the white line but do incroach into the lane slightly.

A car was coming the other way and was drifting into my lane a little. So I had to swerve a little towards the side of the road (onto the white line). Suddenly the car got "sucked" towards the shoulder and then WHAM!!! The impact was so intense that I thought that I had hit the other car at first. But my buddy in the passenger seat said we just nailed a huge pothole.

Holy crap man, i experience a thing so similar that at first i thought you might have been one of my buddies acting like me and posting a pick of my wheel. HAHA. But seriously man. My rims are also discontinued, it was my front right wheel, a pot-hole caused the damage, it broke my lip EXACTLY like yours (i mean to the "T"), and they look very similar to yours, 5 spoke silver except they have twin spokes like the konig holes. I know exactly how you feel man. And I was about to sell my car (currently 93 honda civic hatchback) to get a dsm, so now I have to drop more money into this freaking car before i can sell it. The bad thing is these are my all year round wheels. Not just winter. I will try to get a pic.

I dont think this rim is salvageable it looks like the lip was ripped away from the rim.

buff it out

seriously though, two of mine have slow leaks at the bead, they oughta have a paving crew follow the plows all winter, i see tanks on cnn go hull down in crap smaller than some of the holes around here...

i know the feeling. a few weeks ago i hit a huge pothole and now when im driving around 20ish you can hear some squeaking from the pass side front. i looked at it and everything seems ok. the more and more caltrans makes new freeways the more they forget about the roads they already have.

Right when i bought my brand new 17" SSR Competition rims with Yoko Avid v4's on em i hit a pothole the size of the grand canyon, thank GOD for the road hazard program! i tried to go around it but this fat B*ITCH IN A F**KING SCION xB (the box car!) wouldnt go over into her own LANE!!!! I WAS PISSED AS HELL! so i know how u feel.

You could always try sending the rim off to one of the various wheel repair places. Google it and i'm sure you will find many shops that have fixed much more jacked up wheels than that.

If your insurance doesn't cover it, you can get money from the state. Call the PD, tell them where the hole was and go from there.

yea man i fell your pain i wrecked a pot hole today luckily my rim didnt get f'ed up, damn salt truck drivers dump too much salt on the road and it eats away the pavement, i swear to god it says right on the damn bag not to use too much, do the salt truck drivers care not, while not untill theyre rolling around in there blacked out burban witht hem 22' spinenrs hopmie and hit one then theyll bi*** untill it gets refunded by the state even though its their dumbasses that did it. :thumbdown Michigan road crews suck.
