If I were to use meth injection and inject methanol/windshield wiper fluid that was at say... -10 degrees, would there be any problems? any gains?

NO problems and not really any more gains just due to weather. As soon as the mix is injected it is subjected to so much heat it vaporizes almost instantly. If you're looking for more cooling gains, just add more meth as it evaporates faster, but requires a larger quantity to absorb the same amount of heat as water will.

I did have my lines freeze up once, but that mix was the blue juice that was 30% meth 70% water, the -20* stuff i think. You want the -40* so it's 50/50. It was in the negative 30's when mine froze up, but i believe the freezing was due more to some of the water left in the line from when i tested the pump and nozzles in the house before i went out and installed it on the car. I had to put a propane heater under the car and run a long piece of bailing wire all the way through the line from trunk to engine to get it unclogged. After that i added more HEET to the mix and rant eh pump for a few seconds to make sure i had the stronger alky mix in the lines to prevent freezing.

The more meth in the mix the less chance it has of freezing. Also, the "blue juice" when i used it left a lot of deposits and crap in my nozzle filter, i don't recommend using it. If you have any circle track race shops in your area you should be able to get pure methanol for about 3.50 a gallon and then buy some distilled water and mix your own (don't use tap water!) It seems that most people end up using a mix of about 80% meth and 20% water, and that's what worked best for me as well.

Good luck!

I have personally always thought something like chilling your fuel would be intresting, like say a metal fuel cell inside another. Then put some ice in it to cool it. I would think injecting 30-40* fuel into the combustion chamber might render good results. Maybe a little more resistant to detonation and hot spots?

Would be a drag strip only kind of thing I would think though, but in a way if your going to do all that might as well go with a air to water intercooler. Hell maybe do both if it's a strip only car.

With Peltier cooling, you're back to the balance of the equation: the energy to run the bridge has to come from somewhere, and will cancel out the hoped-for benefit of the cooling.

#1 Are you talking about TECs? The things computer nerds (used to be one) use to cool CPU's and or chill water cooling systems for overclocked computers?

#2 If so then Defiant can you explain your comment a bit more.

Chilling the meth will have a minor effect on cooling the air stream. Most of the cooling effect is from the latent heat of vaporization as the meth changes phase from liquid to vapor. The sensible heat from starting with a colder mixture will add only a small percentage of cooling.

See my post at http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tur...-chill-can-water-injection.html#post151522443 for the math for using all water.
