frankenstein 2gb 2ga headlights

so I bought a 2gb eclipse bumper to put on my talon, and since have been thinking of what I am going to do about headlights....

buy 2gb ones? too much money
use 2ga ones? looks like shit
use the plastic exterior 2gb pieces that I have lying around (because when I bought my car it came with ricer 2gb projectors), on the 2ga housings? YES

I had to modify the lighting shield on the inside of the headlights slightly, but it works! and looks decent. I will post up a few pics when I get them finished.

Why not just sell it and buy an Eclipse????

How are you going to seal the headlight back up,
since the "cover" of the 2gb headlights is shorter than the the 2ga's?

cover is actually the same length, just has a different front. it sealed up fine.

Defiant, I sense some sarcasm, as I do know im not posting a tech on how to make "a car that hasnt ran 12's, run 10's" I believe that this info will help some of those that wish to do a 2ga to 2gb conversion, since they dont have to buy a good set of 2gb headlights, just the covers, which I see crappy broken projector headlights for sale all the time with good covers.

forget your frankenstein idea, just get some 2gb headlights, even if they are the projectors as long as its black housing, they dont look bad at all, you just sacrifice using h1/h3 bulbs for them.

Since when? Since everyone else on the face of the planet is doing it? 2gb talon looks sexier by far! I do admit, 2gb talon front should have had 2gb eclipse headlights, and 2ga Style Side Skirts. Poor Talon! GIVE IT TO ME! I have a 98 GST you can have! Just needs a motor!

And I suppose it is better than cutting up the Talon 2gb bumper.

i didn't say the 2gb talon front looked bad, however your claim above says it is sexier by far-- obviously referring to it compared to the 97-99 eclipse front..

so then i ask you.. Since when? you dont have everyone else on the face of the planet doing a 2gb talon front.. so i guess which defeats your claim about it being sexy by far even though both of our statements are just opinions.. the hard evidence of #s of conversions between the 2 don't lie.

i dont know why you had to stir something up from a neutral response, you can refer to my post again, never did i say anything about which was better, the OP already made his choice.

WILOWNU is right about the FMIC issues. its a lot easier to hack up a 2gb eclipse bumper and keep it looking clean than a 2gb talon front but as far as sexy/rarity the 2gb talon is the winner... i can count on 2 fingers how many 2gb talons with a 4g63 ive seen in the last year. if your going for function get the 2gb eclipse and hack it up to let that FMIC breath and use that bumper at the track. for street the 2gb talon bumper looks good and keeps its originality.

my buddy has done the complete 2gb eclipse conversion from a 2ga talon and he has a lot of fun explaining to cops/mechanics/anyone when on paper its still a talon and they can't find his car out in their parking lot.

I had to cut my 2gb Talon front bumper up to even get a small FMIC behind it. If you want a huge FMIC, the 2gb Eclipse bumper is the way to go. But most people run bigger ICs than they need anyways...

Seems odd that someone with that much sense wouldn't just get the right headlights, but what do I know.
