I have been searching and reading into turbo's for my 1998 gsx. I keep finding myself leaning towards the fp3052 turbo. I have heard nothing but good things about this turbo. The spool sound on this turbo also makes me tight in the pants. :) But anyways i guess what i want to know is, if i have a fully stock engine (internals wise) will i be okay running with this turbo. I have really thought about going with the evo3 16g but i keep thinking about it and i think that if it is possible to have a turbo that i can run around the 350hp mark (my currnet goal) and if i end up wanting more power later on down the road i will not have to re-buy another turbo to reach higher numbers later on when or if i decide to do my internals in my engine. It would be ideal to me to have the engines internals replaced at that point while i can keep the same turbo save some money, and up the boost and re-tune. Does anyone know if this turbo is alright to run at a low enough boost for the 350hp mark? or am i just looking to be getting into problems with tuning etc. ?

The 3052 is fine for the 350whp mark, sure you won't be using its full potential but it will leave you lots of room to grow down the road & it won't be something stupied like wanting to use a 42R for a 400whp goal. I've ran the 3052 on the stock bottom end for the last 3 summers & its been a great turbo, there's lots of others doing the same. I run 25-26psi daily now which should put me somewhere around the 430whp mark. If you have a descent tune & the bottom ends in good shape, these motors can take alot. If you can't tune &/or have a tired bottom end, you can blow the engine with a much smaller turbo.

Sounds like a plan to me. It's enough turbo to really get after a 6bolt block for all it's worth. As long as you're fairly certain you'll want more later, I see the price difference being worth it if you really want fp.

It's proven to trap 600hp MPH numbers. See Brianawd on here. He put his nearly full weight gvr4 to 131mph wiith it and an extrude honed 1g intake manifold, IIRC.

Thanks for the help and feedback. Daren are you still using the 7 bolt engine that came with your car? Also i noticed you are from ontario. I am from alberta, and i am just wondering where you picked up the fp3052 from? If you got it from the manufacturer themselves? or you found a deal in Canada somewhere.

Thanks.

Yes, still the stock 7 bolt bottom end, that came with the car. I bought it with abit under 20K, now has just over 80K. Completely stock when I bought the car 7 years ago & power has increased steadly since then.

I bought the complete setup from a FP dealer in the states, Hybrid connection. Got a great deal but looks like their no longer in business (must have given out to many good deals :tease: )
