Four Hood Pins

Here's an idea for the rear hood pins. Make a bracket that extends off of the firewall and then mount your hood pin into the bracket. Then bolt the bracket to the firewall. It's a bit more work, but then you could get the hood pin further back and exactly where you'd want it. I also think that this setup would look extremely clean under the hood.

Just a thought.

Or just install them on the only flat surface towards the ear of the engine bay. You can even get under it from the wheel well to tighten the hood bolt. I have a hole one one of those circled sides there because I tried to mount a sensor, but I decided not to due to clearance issues. The metal there is thick though, be ready to drill for a long time if you have a low volt drill. See pic attached.

Yea, why waste your time making some god forsaken bracket as I mentioned. Especially when there's a perfectly good flat surface for you to drill on.

I guess I need to look under the hood of my car more often as I didn't realize it would be so damn easy. I stand corrected. :)
