I post a few days ago about my 98 eclpise gst and its problem.
It looks like I have a boost leak. It is between the stock plastic pipe that goes to the throttle body and the top of the intercooler. Between the intercooler and this plastic pipe is a rubber piece that clamps to the intercooler well that rubber piece is cracked and letting boost shot right out of there. I had the dealer fax me a parts list with the pictures of the parts and its not on the parts list and the dealer is just like I don't know. My question is does anyone know where to get that rubber piece from or any idea of what to do.
Any idea's welcome thanks again.

he is talking about the rubber hose that is in between the throttle body and plastic intercooler pipe. its the black rubber hose that can flex that look like an S.

if you have a leak and cant get the part from the dealer i say just upgrade to a hard pipe and you wont have to worry about any crack on the plastic pipe or rubber pipe.

The part you need is # 11756Q in that picture. It goes from the top of the intercooler and connects to the plastic piece with the BOV in it. That picture is a little off but it is basically if you stood in front of the car looking in at it.

Rich :dsm:

I think he needs 11756p thtat is the pipe that goes to the intercooler, parts number is MB906453 list is 95.17 but I am sure you can find one real cheap since that is one of the first things to go when we start modding a eclipse! why don't you just upgrade to a dave brody pipe and get a 1g bov? you will be much happier :) and they are very reasonably priced :thumb:

Ive got the piece right in front of me. it is the 11756p that goes to the intercooler and has the BOV on it. that is the most restrictive piece in the intercooler piping, if you have the money and plan on upgrading this is one of the first things to do. You have to buy the intercooler pipe and a new BOV which might cost you $150 to $300

take a picture of the part if you can. If you cant, i suggest you go to an exhaust shop (midas, tuffy, etc.) and have them bend you a 2.5" piece from the top of the intercooler to the rubber S hose. Buy a 1g BOV, a flange. Weld the flange in to the pipe. And put it all in.

I have a new pipe with the 1G BOV for 2G cars. When I put it on the 1G BOV is to the side. And the part where the air goes back to the intake is pointing down and that stock rubber hose that comes off the 2G BOV does not reach. Where can I get a new rubber hose like that. That will come up and around>?
Im Trying to get some pics thanks once again for all the help

I put in the pipe with the 1gen BOV and got some hose and the car runs great now. It looks like it was the rubber between the intercooler and the plastic tube that runs to the throttle body.
One last thing does anyone know what the 1gen bov is set at when it comes to how much boost it will build. I got the kit from machv.com. The 1gen BOV seems to build up alot of boost in my car vs the 2nd gen did not build up as much boost. And im workingon getting a boost gauge.
Thanks for all the help
