Where can I buy a high performance release fork?

I installed a 2900 act pressure plate which snapped my release fork. I've searched trying to find a site selling forged forks but its not looking good. I found a company called taboospeed but they no longer have a website and it seems people on this site have had some bad experiences with this guy. I also checked tre's website, there forks don't say anything about being forged and its about the same price as an oem.

Do I just buy the oem? From my searches and understanding I've gathered that a new fork will hold up to the 2900 and that mine broke just because it had 120,000 miles on it.

OP, buy an OEM stocker with a new pivot ball. It has the proper geometry and will hold a 2900 just fine. I ran a 2900 for near 3 years and dozens upon dozens 11 second passes in the high 120 and 130 flat territory. I put on about 25K miles in that timespan.

Thanks for all the reply's guys.

I pulled the motor, a buddy had a 2900 sitting around and I had a stock clutch sitting in my car. He sold me the clutch that day and let me put it on a payment program. The 2900 just worked, it would have been a 2600 if I would have ordered one.

I'll be ordering the oem fork and pivot ball. I may also shim the pivot ball, I've got a video to watch explaining when one needs to shim the pivot ball.

It's a general rule to shim the pivot ball 1/8-1/4 depending on where the fork sticks out of the opening of the trans. You want it to be right in the middle of the opening. Once you figure out the amount of washers (hardened washers!), use red loctite on the ball to keep it there forever.

Has anyone experience fork breakage with the new twin disc clutch setups.

A twin disc uses less pressure due to the load being spread out over two discs, there is no need for a super high clamping pressure as in single disc clutches.

On a lot of dsms with aftermarket clutches, it helps a lot to shim. Some people don't, most people do. It depends on where your clutch fork is in the trans. Reiterating what I've already said.

I literally used new everything when it came to the clutch assembly, new master, new slave, new SS clutch line, new fork, new ball, new OEM TOB, new 2600 and a new flywheel. I still shimmed, you can never be too sure. I still had to adjust the master as well so that it wouldnt drag when revved to 7K.

I really don't think you should shim a new pivot ball when installing a new fork. Your fork could hit your pressure plate and break everything. There's no reason for it. If you need to make fine adjustments, use the adjusment in the master cylinder rod.

Ps. Yes the one at TRE is OEM, and OEM should hold fine if it's new. (and nobody has fuddled with the geometry)

Agreed. I just replaced my transmission, new 2600 ACT clutch, new chromoly forged flywheel, new tb bearing, new pivot ball, low mileage fork. Installed everything and the fork lines up dead in the middle of the boot. Bleed the clutch line and the clutch engages almost exactly where it did previously on a different clutch. So, I don't see the need to shim if the everything is new or low mileage.
