I want to buy a set of forged pistons and eagle rods, I was wondering what the life is on the pistons. in miles... Do they beat going with the 2g piston 1g rod combo for reliabilty? Im not talking bringing the boost up and keepin it there for a daily driver, I mean like 14-15psi.

Forged pistons are really for race motors than will be seeing alot of boost. There is really no need for it if you are only going to be pushing 15 or so lbs. The 1G rods and 2G pistons are a good combo for most people in general. Also, very good machine work is a must for forged components. If the maching is done poorly then it will cause problems down the road. Most places dont do alot of 4G63 work so I doubt they will have the right tools for a god job, mainly a torque plate for boring.

not only all that but you can just stick with the 1g spec pistons if you like. The difference will not be all taht pronounced in changing to the 2g specs but if you would like a little bit of bottom end added you can do this.

If you are not going to be making a decent ammount of hp don't worry about spending the money on forged components.

i wanna be able to bring boost up to if i goto the track and stuff. will the 2g pistons be able to take a lotta boost?

2G pistons can handle 500BHP on a properly tuned engine. You won't have a problem running 20-25+PSI if you tune right.

Ok but how long will the rings last. I dont wanna rebuild the engine every 10k miles thats why im wondering. Just a ballpark figure of how long high proformance rings and pistons last.

Again, it depends on how you treat it. Stock rings last for about 100k in most cars. Look how many people are on the stock shortblock with more than that and making good power. You shoudl be able to get 60k out of forged parts with little problem as long as everything is done right.
