I've been looking at fmu's, do they really work and elimanate the need for tunning, or do they make tunning easier? What ratio should I go with if I don't get a tunning device for now, and what ratio would be good for tunning. I want about 17-20 lbs of boost on a small 16g or evo316g. 190 lph and a regulator. I'm also considering using a chip from jeff. What do you guys think?

I have no insight on this but they would be more talked about if they were worth it.

probably true, but brand names like jackson racing, vortech, etc.. uses them. maybe not alot of people have tried them, i know alot of products that are good but don't get the reconition they deserve. idk....

FMU are for non-turbo car conversions.
Many cars can't read boost, so the FMU adds extra fuel when in boost.
They are a horrible way to tune a car.

They have no use on a 4G63.
You want a 1:1 FPR, not a FMU.

Bigger Injectors, Fuel Pump, 1:1 AFPR and a Chip from Jeff, is all you need.

With a S16G @ 23 psi, 530 cc Injectors, 255 Walboro, and a Chip; I made enough power to burn my stock clutch up in one day.

Edit:

With the 12:1 FMU in your link, your fuel pressure would be 278 psi at 20 psi boost. :)
