FMU for TSi?

I'm looking at some fuel management options for my future upgrades. I know the fmu basically raises fuel pressure with boost to squeeze more fuel in with the same size injectors. I found that the Cartech FMU's can be set to turn on at a preset boost, so if I'm running out of fuel at 8 psi, it'll raise the fuel pressure at that point to give more fuel. My questions is, will this idea work? Anyone using it? Thanks.

If your looking to turn up the boost on the car, you'll be safe to about 14-15psi with the stock set up. The stock fuel pressure regulator that comes on the car is a rising rate regulator, which means that it will raise fuel pressure 1psi for every psi of boost it sees. When you upgrade your fuel pump, then a adjustable fuel pressure regulator will be needed. After that, you might want to look to see if you have an e-prom ecu. If you do, look into getting it flashed. I don't believe the FMU works well at idle and mid throttle. Only at WOT. With an upgraded fuel pump the 450's are good for another 2-3 psi, and then they are pretty much maxed out. I hope this helps.
