I got a 96 gsx with a huge ebay fmic on it. bought it this way. I have a t3-t4 50 trim old school garret turbo "air research". The front mount is giving me a lot of lag and is making the turbo spool really loud. Its just all around bad. I am looking for info on a fmic that is good for what i got and will give me room in HP if i want to up grade later. I got around 350-400$ to spend on it any help would be great.

Are you sure it's the fmic causing your problems? From the symptoms you've mentioned it sounds like your turbo could be taking a dump.

If you're sure its the front mount the SSAC (or VRSF around here) should be plenty for what you're looking for, Its even an ultra short route.

In that price range a punishment racing fmic or vrsf fmic would be your best bet. They have both been used frequently and both are pretty straightforward to install. They will both leave room for later when you decide you need more power!

X2 on the VRS FMIC or punishment racing. Should be more than enough to satisfy your current and future needs. I too doubt that its your FMIC causing to too much lag; unless you have some serious leak or have some other problem that is being confused by turbo lag.

Have you done a boost leak test?

Check the bolts on your wastegate tight everything if getting loose i can be or other things. Check you intake manifold maybe the gasket is bad and can cause that too check your couplers too piping. Do a boost leak test and if you have a leak them is that.

thanks for the information i will do the leak test and all. But either way i think i am going to go with the VRS FMIC.

There is nothing wrong with the ebay fmic to a certain point. The VRS fmic would be a good choice tho..
