I received an e-mail today from a rep at Horschel/Fluidampr and they informed me that their version of the 4G63-T crank pulley/dampener is under production and will be available in about 4 weeks! :D I'm thinking of picking this unit up....anybody have any advice if it's worth it over the stock crank pulley? I learned enough about non-dampened pulleys to stay away (thanks everyone for the feedback). I just removed my b-shafts and I'd love to shave some more rotational weight of the crank for some power. Again, any thoughts?

I have been waiting for fluidampr to make pulleys for us for a while. I wonder if the 4 weeks is real? It seems like they have been developing them for longer than I can remember. If they do finally release them I will probably get one.

Here's the message I received:

xxx, thanks for checking back. The 4G63 is now in manufacturing and
should be available in about 4 weeks.

Subject: Crank Pulley For 4G63-T/Eclipse Turbo

Hi,

I received an e-mail from Dan O. about 2 months ago
saying to check back since you guys were working on a
crank pulley/dampener for the Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo
engine. Is there a product available yet? What's the
time frame (if any).

Thanks,
xxx

That .0003 horsepower should do the trick. Your power gain's not from the rotational mass, but from under-driving the accessories. Which might pull you another 5HP. Maybe. Reduced rotational mass goes to RPM spin-up, but again, is trivial in harmonic balancer mass.

Still, without HOW MUCH THEY COST, this thread's not much more than tickle-dick.

I'm not sure of the pricing, I never even heard of this company/brand until about a month ago, I imagine they'll be pricey though.

Not bad. An Unorthodox UDP is about $200, so about double? Hey, if it gives a bit of power and boosts reliability, it may be worth it. Let's hope they give some dyno charts or something.
