Fluctuating Oil Pressure

I noticed in my car lately that the oil pressure gauge will go up and down. If i am driving and on the gas its normal, right in the middle of the range on the gauge. But the problem is when its at idle, the pressure will drop down, it will still read that there is pressure but instead of being at the middle, its about 1/4 of the pressure. Is this normal, any suggestions?

Sounds normal to me, when the car is at idle there is no load on the engine to generate oil pressure.

Completely normal. Our cars generally run at ~15-20psi pressure at idle and then + ~10psi/per 1K RPM

Ok thanks guys, also i dont know if either of you would know but is it also normal for the idle to drop about 100 rpm or so when i turn on the headlights?

When you turn on the headlights or any power draining accessory most of the time it will drop the idle a bit because of the alt.

Just like it says it will in the Owner's Manual. Hit up eBay and buy one.
