Hey, I'm running an Autometer Elect. oil pressure gauge and have been noticing something lately.
When my car is warming up it will idle around 1,500 RPM give or take and the oil press. will be at 75 psi. A few seconds later it will fluctuate back and forth between 25 psi- 75. This is only when it's warming up from a dead cold start.
Once warmed it will idle fine, cruising is fine. Its only when it's cold.

It never used to do this, it used to just sit at 75 and slowly drop as the engine warmed up.

Any ideas?

Old thread, yes, but I wanted to add to it in case anyone else searches for it (like I did).

I have an Autometer electrical oil pressure gauge as well and am experiencing this same exact scenario as the OP explained at cold start. Oil level is fine and am convinced that it is a sender issue with the gauge. I have the gauge sender remote mounted too and this still occurred. Once warmed up, this doesn't happen.
