I used to work at pepboys and when they closed the store i worked at i got the display flowmaster muffler with the oval shape cut out of it for free.....i got another job at this place that does welding and cut out a 1/16th thick plate the same shape to fill the oval cut out and welded it in, then painted it a hightemp silver...

now my question is that since im still saving up to get the basic maintenence fixed i thought since i have this muffler and will get all the performance things AFTER i dont have any other problems, and it would only cost me a few bucks for clamps, if flowmasters sound good on the stock pipes???

It's a 3 chamber i believe and it has a 2.5 inch offset inlet and 2.5 inch center outlet. if someone can tell me the size of the stock exaust tubes then i can get an adapter so i can just slip the smaller end on. let me know if anyone has one or has heard on on a DSM :thumb: :talon:

Flowmasters are not the best muffler to use on a turboed car, so stick with the stock muffler or sell the flowmaster and buy a straight through design muffler.

i'll probably just to go pepboys and buy one of there cheap-o straight through mufflers for like 70 bucks hahaha but id like to know what the stock pipe size is so i can get the right reducer :thumb:

A buddy of mine had a Flowmaster on his 2G and it sounded nice. Low, deep grumble and was not too loud. My dad also has a Flowmaster on his 2.6L Turbo Mitsubishi Starion and it sounds good also. If you have it you might as well throw it on. It can't hurt and it will sound better.:thumb:

i also forgot to mention i took out two of the baffles in it...it will be louder, and flow better, obviously better than stock but im going for a stock type of look for now but yeah i have it, might as well put it to good use :thumb: :talon:

hey steve why dont u just buy a catback and forget just puttin a muffler on the car? you say ricers put just mufflers on there cars with the stock size piping, why dont u do this car right and not half fast.

okay i put the flowmaster on, and i don't know what series this muffler is but at idle it's quieter than the stock muffler, but it does flow a hell of alot better and has a nice low tone when you give it gas. it looks pretty good on the car too ill see if my friend can take a shot of two later in the week:thumb:
