97' Eclipse Turbo 2.0

3'' piping from Turbo - w/ NO cat and thermal exhaust & racing downpipe

I want the car to sound as close to 350z/G35

my question is - - -

Would a Flowmaster 50 Series sound pretty quiet on my car?
if not... what would?

A flowmaster on a turbo car really isn't that great of an idea. You want something that's straight through, but flowmasters have baffles in them. Great for an NA car where they need a balance between high flow and backpressure for low end torque. The turbo creates the backpressure needed for the low end torque, so a flowmaster is just a restriction where it's not needed.

I wouldn't put an American built exhaust system on an import such as ours because they aren't really made for us.Now they say they are, but you aren't going to get the nice deep tone your looking from a flowmaster as you would say apex'i, hks, rnr, etc, etc....just my 2 cents....I have had a flowmaster on a prelude and it was the loudest, god-awfulest sound ever....

haha ok... well i wont be gettin a flowmaster then !

i want just the muffler like a flowmaster so i can get 2 stock looking tips welded on there

what about those magnaflows that have the dual tips on there?
arent they straight thru?

Get a flowmaster or magnaflow they are fine.

Just because they sounded like crap on a honda prelude, doesn't mean they sound that way on everycar.

I know a few people with the 3" magnaflow, dynomax and flowmaster and they all sound good.

i dont know about a 3 inch. but i have the stock 2 inch piping, no muffler and a gutted cat..... and to be honest it just sounds like shit all around.

I have a dynomax muffler on my 1995 dodge avenger, which has the 420a motor. It sounds real deep and nice and isn't too loud at all, only when i'm at WOT. I love it. BUT, it might not sound the same on the 4g63 since they're two completely different engines. But like i said, i really like dynomax and I'm considering putting one on my gst.i That or a magnaflow.

Why would you want to get rid of your Thermal muffler? People would kill for those. :)

Hey, if you ever end up getting rid of the thermal muffler, I would definitely buy it! PM me if you do :thumb:

I dont consider my car an import either....

imports are the lil hondas, integras, and crx's.

import is such a :barf: werd !
