flip-up lights conversion

My 91 GSX's flip-up lights is stuck in the "up" position. This gave me a good idea, but I haven't seen it done before to a DSM. Has anyone seen or done a conversion where the flip-up lights are eliminated and the lighting unit is flushed with the hood? For example like what they do to FDs, JDM NSXs, etc... Any input would be great. Thank you.

not exactly sure what you mean by that. if you're talking about something like aftermarket head lights that don't pop up for the 1g, no they don't exist out on the market. I have seen someone on here that got rid of his pop-ups and kinda just replaced it with part of the hood and all that was left were the lights under the pop ups. kinda made it look like a 1gb.

You can disconnect your headlight motors so they don't come up anymore. That way your lights will shine through the cover. I found this to give bad light, but I ordered a set off ebay and had an HID kit running through it. Worked out til my DSM died.

Along time ago on dsmtalk there was a 50 page thread about an idea just like yours. Turned into a lot of talk and the thread got closed because nothing was ever accomplished. The thread should still be there, just locked. Might want to go check that out.

I've done that before by removing the fuse for the motor. The car looked good, but the light was so bad that it got to be very dangerous at night. It didn't help that my fog lights were out, too. Thank you anyway.

Are you saying if the 1g had lights like the 300zx or like a 3000gt? Hmmm.... that might look nice.

I've always wanted to do that. With the square look of pop-ups it might be more like a Prelude's.

I really hate the look of flip ups. When they're up anyway....
