That's good to know, my next question would've been what the hell kind of cams do you have that can make power at 12k.

Good to see you found the source of your spool issues. Make sure the gasket doesn't overlap the flange anywhere inside of the manifold or turbo, that's a good way to melt the gasket. I would also take a straight edge and some feeler gauges to that flange just to be safe, it might be slightly warped. A good brace might also help, the 42R is a heavy ass turbo.

i sanded the flange on both the turbo and the mani.. its allready back together and running much better.. i used copper spray on the gasket and not sure if that was the best thing to do but ill see how it goes
