I showed my mechanic the Greddy XL FMIC. He looked at me and said, "You know I may have to install this on a slant..." I said no, everybody has these straight down....

HE said eh Ill do some fabricating and see what I can do...

How do you guys fit a greddy XL FMIC in the front perfectly straight... How much do you have to cut, and how easily does it fit right in..

I dont want an angeled fmic, thatll look dumb as hell, i want it front and flat.....

Do you remove anything?

How hard is this to do?

I want to pass all of this on to him.

P.S.
I have a 95 gsx, with 97 front bumper....

just follow the instructions with the FMIC. The greddy is about the easiest one to install. No cutting the front of the car next to the head light like you need to do for the short route piping. Just a trimming of the bumper, bumper support ect. Still quite easy. If he don't think he can do it, just do it yourself. Should not take long with a few tools. The hardest part is pulling off the stock headlights the first time but if you have swapped bumpers like your last line read then its really easy.

Just do it yourself, and save money. Don't think something bad is going to happen to your car...just don't turn on the car without an intercooler :p . Anyway go head and take out the bumper and put the intercooler in front and check what you are working with...Measure the dimensions and trace with a sharpie what you need to cut and if everything looks good then do it.

If in the middle of the work you find yourself confuse or you give up then put everything back how it was and maybe your local mechanic could do it.
In my opinion you are probably better off doing this job than your local mechanic simply because he doesn't seem to have worked with Eclipse FMIC since he suggest slanting the FMIC so hes as clueless as you are (Not in a bad way). But you got us and could come back at any doubts while doing the job :thumb: . I have a small Greddy FMIC not sure if is the same but i can give you some pointers if you like.
