Well this week at Etown it was their Street Wars event (imports vs. domestics) so i decided to go out and run my car b4 the season ended. Also I wanted to get a couple of runs in b4 i put in the b16g i had purchased. Anyways mods are in profile and here are the times. I know theyre not the best but i figure that its normal being my first time and all and i know theres alot of room for imporvement.

1st run:
RT- .512
60' - 2.614
330 - 6.644
1/8 - 10.073
mph - 72
1000 - 12.949
1/4 - 15.439 @ 86.89 ( for some reason i guess i was nervous and just started slowing down b4 i finished the run OMG )

2nd run:
RT - .500
60' - 2.685
330' - 6.776
1/8 - 10.140
mph 73.69
1000 - 12.957
1/4 - 15.391 @ 92.57

3rd run (best run overall):
dialed in at 14.9
RT - .785
60' - 2.689
330 - 6.727
1/8 - 10.049
mph - 74.74
1000- 12.831
1/4 - 15.231 @ 93.03

4th run:
RT - .141
60' - 2.926
330 - 7.431
1/8 - 10.899
mph 71.48
1000 - 13.774
1/4 - 16.195 @ 91.36 (killed this run.... bogged the launch terribly and missed going into second)

anyways any advice or comments is welcomed thanks

your 60ft times are KILLING YOU. they should be around 2.2 to 2.3 on decent street tires. invest in some slicks or drag radials.

just what he said, those 60 ft's are destroying your times. You don't need to invest in dr's or slicks at the moment you just need to learn how to launch. You should be able to pull 2.1 or 2.2 60 ft's on anythign other than the stock tires, hell even on stock tires you could cut those times.

A couple of questions what psi did you run in your tires?? how did you launch??

hey thanks for the replies so far... yeah i realized that all dya i was having terrible launches

my tires are 235/55/16 goodyear i dont remember the exact style but they are like the new eagle gt's

pretty much all day i was slipping the clutch.

first run i held the rpms at 4k-4.5k and let it slip

second - i held at 3500 and slipped

third - held it at 3500 as well

fourth - launched at 2500 then bogged then missed second....still had a good et of 92 at 16.1

so any tips on the best way to launch it and what rpms. this was at about 16-17 psi of boost also.

3500 slip out the clutch and regulate the throttle dont go WOT in first. Go as fast as you can without spin the tires and shift at 5500-6000 in first. Once you grab second you can go WOT w/ T25 or E16G (well i can atleast, i have yoko avs es100 205/55/16).

on street tires i might as well get out and push it past the 60ft, my street tires are sticky at all. but i guess i hit 2.3 60ft consistly on them so i dont know....on the drag radials i launch atou 4.3 4.5k and just basically dump the clutch kinda hare, it just hooks and goes..2.06fts

doyou have those tires on the stock rims?? that might be part of your problem right there. I have 225's on my stock rims and that is pushing it. Anyway drop the psi in the fron tires to about 21 psi and this is how I launch helps me a great deal.

pulsate the gas around 3500rpm, I found that trying to hold it at a certain rpm netted me bad launches because I was trying to pay attention to to many things. start to slip the clutch to the pointwhere you just start to here the tires about to loose traction but they are still grippingone you get moving let out the clutch the rest of the way. Give it as much gas as you can. slam second and mash the gas.

Your MPH is pretty low for a FWD car, I mean I was trapping 96.5mph in my heavy AWD and my friend with basically the same mods as you does 97.5 in his AWD.

I would think you should be closer to 100.

yeah those are the 235's on the stock 16 inch rim. they were on the car when i bought it, i guess i should look into somehting better than them and not as wide. also the tires that day were on 20 psi.

I don't know about that. I don't think that a fwd should be trapping 100 with the t25 at 14psi. Hell I only did 96 at 20psi.

Well If I can do 96.5 in a 3400lb AWD car with a T-25 that had 210,000kms on it and only a few bolt-ons I see no reason why he can't do 100 with alot more mods and a lighter car with less drivetrain loss.

^^^My best is in my sig. I'm guessing that AWD would get higher traps because they aren't spinning their tires off the line looking for traction

My 0-60ft was 2.2 on 205/40/17 slipping 3500, ended up with a 14.7 94 mph .I think you can get a better 0-60 with the tires you have.

My best time on my T25 was a 14.6 at 97/98mph. I believe I was at 17lbs.
Once you learn how to launch and practice some more you shouldn't have a
problem running mid 14s or lower. The stock sidemount is going to heatsoak
real bad though. That was pretty much the weak point in my setup at the time.
You could feel the car just yanking timing through 3rd.

well i really wont ahve a problem with heat soak since i got a greddy fmic, but i think it pretty much all comes down to traction and learning how to launch. im just gonna have to try some different techniques with slipping the clutch to see how it works best for me, but next time i go will be when the season opens up again and by then i should have the b16g in and all the supporting fuel mods and try and get it tuned at turbotrix :thumb: .
