I have always been able to come up with idea, but usually I just can't get them together, but finally I got this idea together, and go it to work. I just got it finished today. Just want to get some ideas, what people think of it. Was it a good idea?, Would you do anything different? Stuff like that. Also I'll be doing a write up on it this week, and would possible build some if people like them, it was very cheap, and I have an idea that might change them if someone wants one. I did not want to cut the actually bumper support mounts, but they have held up well, with just notching them out, and are still very strong.(I plan on getting a new set, and cutting them a little nicer since the cut off wheel sucked. Also the intercooler is anodized to match the car, to give it a sleeper look. This is a 7 or 8 in. core.

That's what I thought, too. It really wasn't hard to make, the idea behind it was to make something that if I bumped into something the bumper/intercooler wouldn't crush like pop cans. Also if I get into a wreck its nice to have something try and save the Radiator support.

Awesome idea and looks very clean and supportive though if you were to get into an accident I doubt it wold provide and structural or impact support due to it being only bolted on the very ends with small bolts.

O sheet! You are a madman! IC support and Crash bumper all in one package.
Just make those end tabs stronger or duels to connect to top and bottom of the bumper tounges and you have a new product!

Very nice job indeed! I know there will be alot of ppl Very interested in that!

If you was to add more support for the lower mount tabs on the bumper tounges and a mount tab where the hood latch support bolts on, You WILL have a very secure and strong crash bumper!

Its really not ment to be a crash beam I would consider it more a 5mph bumper, you can see it in the picture, but the intercooler is slightly back from the bar. The bar sticks out about a 1/2 inch of so, it might save the intercooler in a little nudge deal.

Looks nice.... u should try a support for the bottom of the I.c. To help prevent the top bars from sagging over time...

What are you going to use to suport the bumpercover under the head lights? It will start to sag over time and possibly tear due to the flexing from no foam suport. Other than thak good idea, looks good.

I would say the bumper cover is pretty supported without the foam piece. Its bolted at the top, and at the sides. I also don't keep front bumpers longer than a year or so,due to hitting small animals, or potholes.

i really like that idea you have there, where did you get the pipe clamps at if you don't mind me asking?

There actually a clamp we used to mount 50 and 60 pound weights on are dirt modified. You can get them online from JRMotorsports.com.

Yea the color matching was a complete accident, I bought a intercooler that was supposed to be black, and it was this color. No real plans for ducting right now, intercooler pipes should be here int he next couple weeks. Other than that the next project is making radiator cover like everyone has been asking for! Should go always around the hood latch and be one piece, and bolt under the radiator mounts.
