advice on intalling intercooler (bumper support or no?)

So I was thinking of purchasing an intercooler with the dimensions 25X12X3 and taking the bumper support out and leaving it out when installing the intercooler. I was wonderig everyone's say on this

I would just ditch it, it's going to be more work and after your done cutting you won't have much left of a bumper support anyways.

For safety reasons, I say cut it and install the FMIC.

I took mine out, but at first I had cut it and it acted as a bit of duct work. But now after building a really nice duct out of aluminum scrap I just ditched it. But make sure you insurance has no problems covering you *IF* something is to happen.

i would cut it and keep it
im keping mine so i can use it as an upper support for the intercooler so it doesnt sag over time.

My buddy and I cut the bottom half of the bumper out on his "99. Worked great. Made some custom brackets on the botton and the intercooler is on there rock solid.

I opted to keep mine & just notch the bottom out for the core to fit up into it. It supports the top of the outer bumper, which I would think removing it would cause the bumper to sag after awhile. The main reason I keep mine is for protection and for insurance. I'm sure if you did happen to hit something and the insurance company finds out you have no front bumper you insurace would be void.

i took out mine and have had it out for over 3 months and so far the front is not sagging or anything like that. I must admit though it is pretty flimsy after the FMIC install and taking out alot of supports on the 95 bumper. It is a bummer though that it isnt in there only because it is so flimsy, i kept it though so maybe this summer i will take it off and add the bumper back on.

Mine is the Victory Performance short route super street kit, & the cost was $1000. Not the cheepest kit, but you defently get what you pay for, the quality & attention to detail are amazing. Comes with nice polished cast end tanks, t-bolt clamps & silicone couplers .

For the install you don't have to cut a hole through the rad support like other short route kits. You have to notch out the inner bumper for the core to fit up inside. Have to lose the fogs and cut abit in that area for the pipes and then trim it abit for the core. Details here:
