Hey everyone I just bought my first eclipse the other day, I have had 2 hatches and a integra and building an eclipse has been something I have always wanted to do. I got a 97 gs with a 2.0 (not that I didn't want the gst or gsx but this is what I could get my hands on) and had a couple questions. I want this to be a long term project and although I don't have endless money want to build this up to be pretty quick. My first question is should I keep it with the 2.0 or is the 2.4 going to be worth the time and money to try to work up to before I work on turboing it if it isn't a huge deal I would rather just build the 2.0 but if it is then I would rather do it the right way. My second question is if I keep it stock what internals should I be looking at that aren't to expensive to support a decent turbo. Last does anyone know a good website to get body parts off I need. New fender and front bumper and figure if anyone knows a good website il use that. I'm new to this but am really excited to get started so all input would be appreciated. Thanks

I was more just wondering if it was worth the extra time and money to try and swap it or if I should just stick with the 2.0 and turbo it.

do some searching and weight the cost and pros/cons . i would probably look into adding a nice turbo setup rather then the swap . turbo setup has more power potential

well by then, it'd be more worthwhile to keep it and save some money up to buy a gst or gsx. I don't believe swapping the 2.4 is reasonable due to the fact that it has different mounts and it would just be a general pain in the ass to swap in. Unless you are talking about something other than the 4g64. Although I have seen some nice turbo 420a builds it seems more cost effective just to buy the gst/gsx. Save up dude.

I have owned a 95 eclipse 420a. it was a great car, didnt break much and i beat it up, and parts where cheap. it had no rev limiter tho (get one). i did win alot of races in it. i had valves 1mm over standerd (timimg belt broke) intake in the bumper with a scoop, exhaust, ngk plugs and 7mm ngk wires. thing ran like a champ. i got the speedometer up to 155mph smoking a 3g eclipse on the highway appearing to top out at about 140mph. most people will tell you its better to just get the gst or gsx if you want a turbo and i agree. id either go N\A or sell it for a gst or gsx...:thumb:
