hey guys,
before 3days found and bought 90Eclipse AWD with burned engine bay for pretty cheap..LOL (find Eclipse awd..1G or 2G is REALLY difficult!!!esp in Czech republic!!!..hey I got 1G and 2G AWD:p :sneaky: )there is some work with it..but wanna use this car just for race..:D

Now my engine is on pieces..my crank bearings (main+rod) are bit scratched...buddie told me we can grind that crank...but..Don´t know if grinded 6bolt crank can handle 600AWHP(thats my finall target)May I bellieve grinded Crank?need help from some known person....

Or  go with NEW EAGLE 700usd Crank:confused: ...
and if will use new crank.is it worth to build 2.3stroker?? If so,Iam confused which parts I really need to build this 2.3.
If use 2.4l crank or this Eagle 100mm..do I need to use "Stroker pistons" or can go with std stroke pistons??..same with Rods??there are some "LONG" rodss etc. ..
Iam really confused
and this 2.3 engines Can´t rev more than 7k???:( like rpms.. so what recommend me?
Go with my old grinded 6Bolt crank,Crower rods,Ross pistons
or
new Eagle crank (I think 88mm is 2.0l???)Crower,Ross?
or
some Stroker setup...which ??

THANKS

With the 2.4L (100mm stroke) crank, you will need to use stroker pistons. You can use the stock rods. Because of the increased stroke, it isn't a good idea to rev past 7200rpm. It puts extra stress on the cylinder walls. Even though you cannot rev past 7200, the increased displacement more than makes up for it with low end torque and spooling power. Brand new Eagle cranks are nice parts, but they are very expensive. I would suggest finding a good used 6 bolt crank. It'd be nice and cheap and you wouldn't need to cut it (which most people don't recommend). If you go stroker, I'd suggest some Eagle rods and Wiseco pistons. Actually, Slowboy has quite the kit (it includes everything you need) for a moderately reasonable price. You can find it here. Can we help you with anything else?

hey,
Thank you for help..
looks like will stay with 2.0..just forged internals...love RPMS :D
How about balancing engine rotating parts??if will get crower/ross and Fidanza.Flw BC 280 or Comp 200....wanna rev my engine 8000-9000rpms is it safe to run this rev with stock 6Bolt Crank and NO balanced engine??(esp if will run cuted/grinded crank)
ESP if will take out my Balance shafts..cus there is some serious reason why engeneers build this motor with them...and by more rpms..then more balancing needs!!!

As for Cams..read Comp 200makes biggest power in 7400rpms..how about BC 280°???
when they start makes power..like 4krpms??

next..sometimes in future will need someone who can help me with shipping parts to Czech..:coy:

hit me your email adress..wanna send you pics of my cranks bearings...you can check if its soo bad..BTW my bearings are scratched as hell...

THANKS
Venca

If you just take out your balance shafts, you can get by without balancing the engine. It's very well balanced from the factory. If you cut the crank, you should probably consider getting it balanced. If you're going to be revving that high, you should definitely get aftermarket valve springs and retainers. The BC 280's are pretty radical cams... if you look around, there have been a few threads about them lately.

If your bearings have visible scratches, your crank will either need to be cut or you need to buy a new crank.

still didn´t make decision..
I can use my "NEW"6Bolt shortblock and swap into my 2G with 2G head..
reasons-
will have to cut Crank..so on this block will make less power than my Target..) So will use cuted crank, cheap Eagles/wisecos..plus some street cams..Comp 200 or cheap BC stage1..springs+ret
Plus use my 50trim..hoping for 400awhp MAX and cruise driving@ like 20PSIof boost
Or buy some GT28R..fast spool and some good HP..street turbo:sneaky:

next
if will use this 6Bolt ShortBlock to swap into my 2G..will have to check another 6Bolt ShortBlock from N/A 4G63 from junkyard+ my 6Bold Head and in future will build Eagle crank,Crower-Oliver-Pauter-Manley strongRods..with some Ross or Mahle lightweight pistons

http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=4864&
plus some 280deg cams or higher(Comp10300..etc)springs+ret
fully build tranny,fuell..
and 35R or 40R turbo ....and return into my 90´awd
=600+AWHP plus 1G 90´AWD 2200lbs= 9.99sec:sneaky: :thumb: :rocks: TARGET

or
Use my "NEW" 6Bolt Long block with use of stronger parts(to can hold 600awhp+ )and return into my 1G 90´AWD plus Lighten to like 2200LB
with use my 50trim and 400awhp on begining of season..and run low 11..??
in future get some big turbo..etc
with hopes to future of 600+AWHP

Then still..my 2G needs rebuild(blue smoke is behind me) so wanna SWAP it
AND....I can use Stock 6Bolt cuted crank/Stock 6Bolt Rods + some forget pistons...and GT28R=serious street racer for LOW budget..??
Give me some opinion please..don´t have money to build TWO race engines:toobad:

THANKS Venca

You have a big project in front of you. It sounds like you want to keep the 2G as your daily driver, and use the 1G for all-out drag mods. So I'd rebuild the 2G with mild mods, keep it fun and easy to drive with some good power. The 50 trim and mild cams will be a good combination. The stock motor is capable of handling 400 hp properly tuned, so do a quick, cheap rebuild on it using new rings, bearings, and gaskets.

Then don't hold back when building the 1G. Use the Eagle crank, good rods and pistons, big injectors, big intercooler, big turbo (at least GT35). You'll have to learn how to tune better and better as you go, so get as much experience as you can with each car.

hey Bro..
Yes..wanna get my 2G for street race and like twice for week driver.:) bit for show and for GOOD FEELING...You know when someone is watching you in city..some chick:sneaky: wow your car looks great / You too..wanna drive ??..
wanna get enought power to Beat M3 without problems..
So, you sayin stay with 7Bolt..just rebuild and some forged pistons..
as for my 50trim..Iam confused of really slow spool up..I can hit 22PSI in like 4700rpms(have to check DSMlink log..but its really slow!!and street car should be more flexible.stronger in lower rpms...:(

and 1G for racing...You are absollutly right....Drag,and races "up to the hill"(don´t know how you call this discipline)

but wanna get 2200lb and 600+AWHP
as for TUNE..:barf:
my best on my last setup was 12.97..went 21PSI of boost 18deg timing was like 25°Celsius and had like 3deg of knock(without WBO2)...tune is my nightmare:notgood:

Venca

You have to get a good tune first. Without a good tune you're just buying nice parts and collecting them on your car. A well tuned 50 trim should spool up around 3800 to 4200 rpm and put you into the mid 11's.

There's more to a good tune than just timing and A/F ratio's. Make sure you have all supporting mods that are appropriate for your goals. Also make sure all the little things are working right, like eliminating all boost and exhaust leaks, reduce crankcase pressure, have fresh plugs and wires, control any phantom knock, a redline suited to your powerband, and no restrictions along the entire pathway from where air enters the car to where it exits the exhaust tip.

A fast car takes time, energy, and money. You have to put in the effort one way or another.
