I've been looking at the fidanza clutches for a while now, but still cant decide on which one would be better. I use my car practically every day so it cant be too hard on the left leg and I certainly dont want any chatter which has me a bit worried about the 3.2 eventhough its not supposed to chatter. The 3.2 is also supposed to last longer and will never really deform as the 2.1 can glaze over like most full streed discs. Would one also be better suited for the awd? I also dont really plan on going over 300hp. Tell me what you guys think.

I'm actually running the 3.2 or should I say sitting with it installed. My target is about 3-350 torqueish, remeber horsepower doesn't have anything to do with the clutch, only torque does. Plus a couple calls garaunteed that the 3.2 would do what I was looking for and more. Personally I'd sooner run the 3.2 in your case just to be safe and since you will most likely eventually get more power. Fidanza also said the engagement is pretty close to stock, its no leg killer by any means. Just from building up the pressure and bleeding the lines in my car, you can definetly tell it needs more force, but its nothing out of control.

Thanks, that really helps alot. Have you heard any thing about clutch chatter with the 3.2?

I run the 2.1 with a 8lb flywheel from fidanza. I love it! I am in the same boat as you. I dont plan on running past 325 HP, so the 2.1 may be your better bet, its cheaper and it'll hold no problems. Its up to you really. Hey Tsibred1 do you get any clutch chatter? I've seen that video and they say it doesn't have clutch chatter, but from all the places i've talked to they say you may experience some. Let me know.

No clue, only thing I can talk about is pedal engagement since the car won't run until next week sometime. Remeber clutches only deal with torque, nothing with horsepower! :)

Oh and one more thing, since he's an all wheeler, he's going to be putting a larger strain on the clutch for slipping since the wheels will be grabbing rather than free spinnng like a fwd. No offense, I don't mean to dog FWD, I'm just saying the awd is going to see more force put through it for that reason. He might have a higher chance of glazing the disc from launching opposed to running the puck.

Right now I'm leaning toward the 3.2. Let me know how it runs because I'm anxious to hear about it's performance even though I assume you'll be breaking it in. Also how long is the break in period for the 3.2? The guy in the video said about 100mi. but accoding to their website it's 500mi.

Well I just got my 3.2 in the mail and there was a note that said that the break in period is 750 miles. Anyone know how long these clutches are suppose to last, the ppl at Fidanza are annoying me. I sent them an email asking this and they sent me an email back with the break in period which I already knew. Since then i have sent them 3 emails asking the average miles they last and they never respond. Seems like after they get your money they could care less what questions you have.

Thanks,
Ryan

If you want a sprung puck disc, a spung 6 hub is easier on the tranny than a sprung 4 puck. I decided to go with an ACT 2100 with a sprung 6 hub disc with a ACT flywheel over the Fidanza 3.2/flywheel setup. I get very little chatter rarely and I can drive the car without the person in the car knowing that I don't have a full face disc.

750 mile break-in for a puck disc? Strange! The 2100 with sprung 6 puck disc states that I just needed to do some high rpm slips before driving with no break-in. I went easy for 250 miles and then went crazy with it. :D

I was also thinking about getting a spec stage 2 clutch which is basically the same as the fidanza 3.2 but has a full face kevlar disc instead of a 4 puck but according to the video thats extra clamp force you dont necessarily need, but i noticed it was spaced out but was still an entire disc. I drive my car every day so i dont want to deal with chatter or a heavy pedal, but whenever i decide to go crazy i dont want to worry about it over heating either. Also accoding to the spec description it will not chatter.

Next week, I'll be picking up my car which will have a 3.2 in it. I'll post back how it performs.

they don't answer because it varies so much on driving style, FWD or AWD, and how often you track the car.

just wondering if you got your car back yet, i'm anxious to hear a review from someone about the 3.2

Not yet. There were issues with piston-cylinder clearances so the block got sent back to the machine shop, and they still had the head there. Soon, hopefully. I miss it.

I got my 3.2 clutch in, the pedal isnt all that different than stock and it engages pretty smoothly. Only have 100 miles on the break in period tho so I cant be hard on it yet.

I was looking to bolt up the 3.2 as well but i was also thinking about a stage 1 Exedy with a Fidanza Flywheel, i was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Exedy and if that clutch could hold up to my 300 pounds of torque?? Or would a stage 2 exedy be better? Any info would be greatly appreciated
