I have a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and 3.2 clutch ready to be installed. Do I need to have them balanced together? The Fidanza website says that because their flywheels are CNC machined, they are very close to balanced, but they still recommend the flywheel and clutch pressure plate be balanced together.

I can't find a whole lot of information about balancing them. I take it most people simply bolt them on and go. I had my clutch replaced many years ago and I know the shop didn't balance the flywheel and/or clutch pressure plate and I never noticed any bad vibrations over the past 50,000+ miles I currently have on the clutch and stock flywheel.

If you've installed this combo without balancing them, please let me know your experience. I'm debating on whether or not it's really necessary to have the two balanced together. If i don't have them balanced what should I expect to see in terms of vibration?

I would definitely consider following manufacturers recommendations, but then again, what is your application? Are you revving more than the factory redline? if not it's probably not necessary... but you are installing an integral performance part. I would want it performing as best as it can, and if this means spending a bit of money on balancing then it would be well worth it to me. This is the setup i want for my car (maybe a 4.3 instead), but when i get it i plan on taking it to an engine shop for balancing before installation, for piece of mind more than anything else... the 4g63 is a great platform but a little finicky if you don't take care of it (crank walk anyone?).

Are you installing it yourself?
Let us know what you think of Fidanza's flywheel/clutch when you get a chance to try it out.
