It's to keep my idle under 1000k rpm's after it warms up. I used silicone before and it worked great until a nitrous backfire apparently blew it out so I want to JB weld it this time. Thanks guys.

I just made a gasket out of thick material that covered the unwanted FAIV ports. It lasted fine for 2 years daily driving and track use. I only replaced it because I tried something new.

I filled the ports on the actual throttle body with windshield urethane. The port ends are bigger than the middle so it can't come out. This is very secure and fairly easy if the part is off. Its the "front" ports

This is more permanent, almost not reversable, if you prime the ports before putting the urethane in, but it is secure.

Here's how I blocked everything.
Let's see how this works ...

So you have no bottom half on your TB at all then? I'm thinking this doesn't sound like a bad idea since i'm going to be removing Evap, relocating battery, vac line removal (not all but some), and possibly blocking my EGR. I can't wait to see how clean it will look without all of that.

What are the ill effects to blocking the FIAV or blocking the whole lower part off?

Doesn't the ISC go down there too? If you don't use an ISC though...

I just did the blockoff plate on mine. I don;t have the rest of the car back together yet so I can't speak of how well it works yet. My IAC doesn't work(drove all last summer w it unplugged...no probs) and I don't drive it in the winter so I'm not too worried about the FIAV.
boostedinaz on here has one on his car. I asked him about it and he said the idle goes down a bit when he's at a light and running the AC, but other then that no probs. It does look a lot cleaner with that, egr, cruise, and vac lines out of there.

Problem is, i DO drive my car in winter (only car). I was also going to remove the FPR but i chose not to do that either for cold and hot starts.

Maybe i'll just block the FIAV, reroute the lines and call it a day. Can you just elim the lines or do you have to reroute?

There's been talk what happens when you block FIAV. Blocking idle step motor passage, I don't know yet.
I have no AC so I believe just power steering would like to use step motor for more RPM. Early fuel injection systems didn't have any option to adjust idle speed(just cold starting valve), and they were working fine. Just like carburated engines, I have only idle screw to set idle, not very high tech but very simple and reliable. If it works somehow ;) I will know soon.

Whoops, i didn't mean FPR. I ment FPS (solenoid).

I'm curious to see how cars without engine management will handle a blockoff plate on the whole lower part of the TB. Let me know guys! I still think i'm gonna block the FIAV though (I've had sooo many stupid coolant lines blow) so it'd be a couple less to worry about.

Thanks for the help!
