Has anyone on here installed fender flares?

Looking to get a set from Carbonetics, to run 285 on 10.5R, but really dont know where to start on fabing these up or messuring what I need.

Ive been seeing the rocket bunny kit for the frs and it looks great, the fender flares they have look good too, so do the 240s with the fender flares, have yet to see an eclipse with them, im sure ones from a 350 or something may work with some fabrication, ive seen a post of it on instagram

I have seen a couple 2G eclipses with the frs rocket bunny version 2 kit, looks great! takes some work to make it work but that's the route I will be starting soon! may have to do a write up on it. ;)

Please do. I like the look of the wide body too. But, the rocket bunny kit isn't cheap (for me) to buy and try modify onto my car.

yeah its not cheap, but I am good at saving for what I want, I can be patient for the things I really want to make my car exactly how I want it. Some other options for you would be like universal zg flares, or similar. In order to properly install fender flares though its going to require some cutting which scares most away from the idea.

I recently purchased the Allen 2g Flares.

I will be flaring my GSX in the spring time, and hopefully running a 265 tire on 10" or 10.5 wheel.

That's a lot of rim for "only" 265's. You can get away with a 9.5. Go wider if you want to use that size wheel.

(I have 285 slicks on a set of 9.5 inch rims. Fit just fine and looks great.)

225 = Section width in millimeters
70 = Aspect ratio (ratio of section height to section width)
R15 = Rim diameter
R = Radial Construction, B = Bias Construction, D = Bias Belted Construction

A 265 width tire is about 10.4 inches wide. Some tire manufacturers run wider, I know personally both Falken and Hankook performance tires run wider.

I think you'll be fine with "only" 265 tire on a 10 or 10.5...

My point was that he will have to try hard to fit a 10.5inch rim on the car. Why waste that for a 265? Go smaller and make it easier or go big and take advantage of the rim width.

If my 255's fit flush on a 9inch rim, 265 will be a little stretched on a 10.5.

I'm not worrying about cutting into the fenders. That will be hidden. I'm worrying about the fitments of the kit from another car onto mine. Heard rumors that Carbonetics is working on the widebody kit for the 2G. Hopefully, it would be ready soon. I'll try to hold out for that.

yeah, they have been leaking pics here and there of it. they said not till Jan at the earliest, I will be surprised if they make that timeline. prolly more like March or Aprill

I can't wait to see that kit either. Looks like he does great work. He did always stuggle with group buys though, but seems like he can handle smaller orders. I really want the AB hood he has. Always loved that design.

So you fender flare guys... Are you going to document the process? I don't think I've ever ran into a build thread with fender flares...

I will be doing it come this spring in my silver gsx. The documentation will be on my build thread. Currently saving up for wheels and tires now.
