Felpro crank seal any good?

I got a felpro front crank seal because mine is leaking, and now I am wondering if I should have bought the oem one? I've heard good things about felpro, but is it good enough for a crank seal?

Also, while on the subject, ist there a site that shows how to replace the seal?

Never used a felpro crank seal but I would go OEM. They dont have the name "Failpro" for no reason.

Wow. I've had the Fel-Pro going on 2 years. I don't see any problems with it so far.

Well, I think the failure rate of felpro is exaggerated. The pack I got has silicon, oil pump seal, etc.. and I believe what you get from the dealer is just the crank seal, and nothing else. Do I really need all the other seals then?

their is little difference in seals, felpro or National and CR. If you install them correctly you should have no problems, remeber to check for a wear groove where the seals rides, may be a problem.

I sell Fel-pro gaskets at my work and they have the least come back or defect rate of any after market OE gasket on the market from what I've seen. The most that do end up coming back are mis boxed in most cases. Just my 2 cents! Hope it helps.

If you are doubting the felpro seal... take it back and go buy a mitsu seal

As far as installing the new seal, you have to remove the harmonic balancer and belts, timing belt and crank sprocket. Then you take a small screwdriver and CAREFULLY pry the old seal out. You dont want to damage the crank. Lube the new seal up with oil and press it into place with a large socket and hammer. Replace crank sprocket, timing belt, harmonic balancer and belts. If you don't already have one, you should buy a haynes manual if you are gonna be doing your own mechanic work... they are a life saver and they have pics and instructions on changing this seal.
