Ok I took the junkyard gst to the shop so I could paint it. This is the first on road test drive. When I first started driving it ran fine. After a few mins it would only hit 3500 rpms and would start breaking up like it's hitting fuel cut off. I don't have my boost controller tapped in bc I forgot about it so I'm only running 7psi. After I got to the shop i shut it off and it sat for about 15-20 mins. I was talking to my guys about it then I jumped in and took it down the road to show them but it ran perfect. Ran up to 6000 and pulled hard. Quick list of mods:
Evo 16g
950cc fic
255
Rewired 255
Afpr
3" turbo back
Dsmlink

Now here's my big question. I'm new to the dsmlink. I calculated my injector global and dead time and saved them but that's close to being it. I haven't done any tune on it. I don't know what I should put. Will a lack of tune and 950cc make me have something like fuel cut at 3500? What's a good start for a tune I'm a 7bolt auto wanna run 14-17 psi nothing big bc it will become my daily driver.

Ok I opened up dsmlink to see about tuning in the fuel a lil more. Right before my laptop died I noticed the "use non 95/96 style can angle sensor) box was checked. Uhhhhhh don't know how that got checked but anyways I got a 96 and I use the 96 at cam cas. So I unchecked it and saved to ecu. Then the laptop died but my question is will it having that box checked it would fire the wrong coil at the wrong time. Will the ecu try to advance the timing enough to act the way it was? I would think it wouldn't even run with that box checked and the coils inverted. Could this have been my problem? I can't test drive it bc it's all taped up in the paint booth.

Still runs like crap. Cuts out at 2500 I tried everything then I reset everything and checked the use non 95/96 cas and it's now back up to cutting out at 4000. Right when I started test driving it it was running great today. Then started to get worse. Then I checked that cas box and it still runs good just cutting out at 4000. What's going on?!?!

I have somewhat of the same issue I replaced my fuel pump and it took care of my problem. Now I have other issues but it moves now.

I would invest in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator since you have a 255 fuel pump in there. As well as a wideband so you can see what is going on.

In the mean time, post a nice log. So we can see. RPM, MAF raw, TPS %, BOOST if able. I doubt though, since you don't have the basic supporting mods.

check your wastegate. could be stuck open. if its not getting boost by the set points where it learned and was set to inject by DSMlink you could be with a lot of fuel and not much air at all. considering its just bypassing the entire system while it is tuned obviously to not. actually had the same problem on my car just now. dropped the turbo and sure as hell the damn flapper was swinging freely. I have a external wastegate but its still the same thing in concept.

boost leak test it and see if the wastegate is opening and closing at the right level of boost and the arm is moving allowing the flapper inside to work its delicious magic. or disconnect the wastegate all together and see if your flapper isnt stuck somewhere by manually pushing and pulling it. your fix might involve new wastegate which should be cheap. mine just involves me dropping the turbo like a dubstep song in a few minutes and taking it down to the shop to weld it nicely myself. this time inside and out.

interesting to see what you find...
