and so my hand slips and there goes 12v through the fcd
It's my mistake, when my positve lead from the metter was touching the OUT on the FCD I accidentally touched my negative lead to the 12v in the lighter unit. Which created a spark meaning it grounded itself, I'm guessing through the FCD into the MAP, I don't know where the MAP is grounded, I'm hoping not at the ECU because that would cause a lot of problems for me. I do know it was not a faulty FCD to start with it worked fine, so yes it's my negligence that I touched the negative to the 12v. Tomorrow I'm going to try to get a reading at the MAP sensor and not the FCD to see if fried the MAP, if not then I will be looking to replace the FCD.

I don't see why you need to tune a FCD so much. I find it like that rotissary oven; Set it and forget it. I love Paul's FCD I have my wastegate spring out at the moment but I can't see it being any different, I was running 10lbs with no problems. I think you need to read over the hookups again in the instructions. The MAP is known to blow before the FCD if the FCD were to ever blow. I say swap a MAP, hell pay me a couple bucks and Ill send you one off of my spare IM, and see if that is the problem.

If the MAP is fried, and you did accidentally destroy the FCD like you say, let's try this: I can send you a brand new FCD for half price if you want. I know you're having a hard time with all this, so just PM me for the details and we'll work something out. That way you can have your car up and running ASAP.
