Fan Running after Shut off

The heating and cooling fan continues to run after I shut the car off. I pull key out of ignition and it continues to run unless I turn the knob all the way to the left. Just noticed it start doing this this evening after running a/c all this week and leaving it in the on position. WTF?

For the dash fans? I am not talkin about the radiator fans.

I did just check it it was quite low on oil glad I caught that before any new problems arose. But would that be the cause of the fans still being able to run?

Something is funky with your wiring then. Power for that circuit should be removed when the key is turned off position. I would start out with a DMM and check for continuity/power across that fuse point with the key removed.

I had a mechanic tell me it could be my relay? I know nothing about wiring complete NOOB. But does that sound like something that could be right?

It could also be a bad ground, i taped into the power cord for a extra ac outlet and it didnt connect right i guess but it did the same thing, i undid it today and it was all fine.

It could be the relay module for the Blower Motor, or even the ignition switch. Use the wiring diagrams in your manual to find out what color wire provides the signal from the switch to the module and trace from the switch to the module to the motor. If at any of the junctions on the switch side is live after shutdown then I suspect the switch. If the junctions are live between the module and the motor than its the module. Check at the module any other device that may supply a signal wire for the relays and if any of them are live then another component may be shorted and supplying power after the key is removed. BTW how long after you remove the switch will the blower continue to energize?
