Fan not shutting off!?

My passenger side fan, the cooling fan, will never shut off. I don't even need the car running, just the key in the on position, and the fan will forever run. Is it a bad sensor, a bad switch?

Your fan controle relay is shorted in the closed circuit position. I have no idea where that is in a 1g but in the 2g its on the drivers side by the break booster.

on a 1G that relay box is located just in front of the passenger side strut tower

well, i would like to know how to fix it at least, so when i sell the car, i can fix it quickly. Thanks guys for the quick responses.

I agree, there could be worse situations, like it not coming on at all. Right now I've got a 2G radiator in my 91 and I'm trying to run the 2G fans. Unfortunately, every time the passenger side fan comes on while going down the road the blades physically detatch from the fan motor. It's done this twice now to two good fans. I'm getting tired of it and I think I'm going to rig a 1G fan in its place. Things could be worse.
